Daniel is an actor, writer and producer, and is a co-producer with Alley Theatre. He has written / performed four stage plays, two of which were for Alley Theatre, the most recent being Inheritance: a pick-the-path experience (co-written with Darrell Dennis and Medina Hahn) which was Jessie nominated for “Outstanding Production” and won the award for “Outstanding Innovative & Immersive Storytelling”. Previously he adapted (in collaboration with the 44 performers) the radio play The Ridiculous Darkness, which was nominated for “Significant Artistic Achievement” and “Critic’s Choice Innovation”. Daniel’s other creative involvement in Alley Theatre productions includes Little One (actor, co-producer), Marrow (dramaturgy), Three Stories Up (dramaturgy), Mrs. Warren’s Profession (actor, co-producer) which was nominated for “Critic’s Choice for Innovation” and for which he co-produced the interactive docu-website www.mrswarrens.ca, Tape (actor, co-producer) which was nominated for two Jessie Awards including “Outstanding Lead Actor” and “Outstanding Production”, and Wicked Shorts (dramaturgy) which won “The Cultchivating Award” and was remounted by The Cultch. Beyond Alley Theatre, Daniel has co-written and performed (with Medina Hahn) the plays Tuesdays & Sundays and Any Night, which were published in the USA and Canada, toured internationally, garnered numerous awards, and been listed among “Best Shows of the Year” in cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and New York. Daniel is the protégé recipient of The Siminovitch Prize, Canada’s most prestigious theatre award, and he has made films including co-starring/writing/producing the feature film Lawrence & Holloman, which won over a dozen awards including the Canadian Comedy Award for “Best Feature Film”.
