#whatnow event details
July 18-20 & 25-27 the ANNEX (823 Seymour St)
In order for you to have the best possible experience, we wanted to give you a heads up on the content of the show and the flow of the night.   This may not be an easy performance to watch. The content includes the telling of true stories of sexual assault. Nothing is physicalized or "acted out"; it is all spoken word. This is an opportunity to hear stories shared in community, with support, and possibly some hope moving forward, together. Please know that during the performance, you are welcome to get up, leave and come back. You are allowed to care for yourself in this space. There will be a professional support worker present if you need any further assistance.   Secondly, the performance length is about 1 hour. After this, we have a dedicated post-show facilitator to help you decompress from the show and lead an activity to care for ourselves and for one another. Each night, depending on the audience needs, these activities might include: a sharing circle, a meditation, a writing exercise, or a gentle movement activity. You are welcome to participate in any way that feels best. If this post-show activity is not what you need or desire, there will be a small break between the show and post-show gathering in which you can either get support from our support worker that night or leave the space (and perhaps connect with a person you trust). We want this to be a supportive and non-judgemental space where we are allowed to respond honestly about a thing that impacts us all ... and that we all might have the power to change. We are so grateful you are interested in showing up, thank you. If you have any questions about the show or would like to share feedback on your experience afterwards, please email info@alleytheatre.ca.   Back to the theatre wire's ticketing page.
